Amit Kumar Bhattacharjee
Hospitality is not just about serving food—it’s about serving memories that linger long after the last bite.
Born in Kolkata, West Bengal, and raised between West Bengal and Odisha, Amit Kumar Bhattacharjee grew up in a home where food and culture were inseparable. Surrounded by people from different regions of India, he experienced a colourful mix of traditions that shaped his love for flavours and his belief in food’s power to connect people.
After completing his Hotel Management degree in Bhubaneswar, Amit began his career with The Oberoi Group and went on to work with international brands such as Holiday Inn and Marriott International. While his early years in hotels gave him a solid foundation, his true passion came alive when he entered the restaurant industry.
From Area Operations Manager and Regional Manager in Bahrain to Director of Operations in Saudi Arabia, Amit worked with diverse restaurant concepts and helped launch numerous venues across Bahrain and Riyadh. These experiences taught him resilience, creativity, and the importance of crafting dining spaces that feel both comforting and memorable.
This vision led to the birth of Katthi Gully—a place where people could gather, connect, and enjoy food that is flavorful, soulful, and true to its roots. For Amit, success is not measured only by business growth but by guests leaving with smiles, satisfied and eager to return.
With the unwavering support of his family and team, Amit continues to grow Katthi Gully with a simple mission: to share the vibrant flavours of Kolkata and create unforgettable dining experiences across the Gulf and beyond.
